rebecca 26.2

26.2 old films for new films  abdul

In my report I will be talking about the original karate kid and the remake of the The original karate kid which was made in 2010.through out my report I will be covering the way the story has been told and how it has changed, this will include elements of mise en scene and sound effects, costume, the characters within the movie etc.

In this first karate kid there was aspect of the Chinese culture implemented in the movie where as the remake of the karate kid in 2010 we see the uses of the American culture but in both movie we see two different cultures the still tell the same story lines. Which will be that is a young American males that lives an normal life until his gets into a dilemma then get trained by a Chinese karate teacher that assist him to win a karate fighting tournament.

The producer of the karate kid that was produced in 2010 was will smith, jerry weintraun, jada pinkett smith, ken stovitz, James lassiter and the director was Harald zwart. In the remake of the karate kid the producer was jerry weintraub and the director was john G Avildsen.

The films stars that appeared in the first karate kid was Randee Heller ( Daniel larusso’s mother), Pat Morita(Mr Miyagi), Ralph Macchio( Daniel Larusso’s). where as in the remake the main movie stars was Jaden smith(Dre parker), Jackie Chan (Mr Han)  and  Taraji P.Henson( Dre parker’s mother).

The first karate kid had a budget of 8 million dollars. However the remake of the film was given a budget of 40 million dollars. The reason for the difference in budget cost is because over the years the technology and cost from scenery choices improved and increased.

Both America and china were funded f or both films by Sony Corporation ever since they got involved, the Columbia pictures and the Chinese film group corporation. Both of the karate kids where both internationally co-produced since more than one production where included to help produce these films.

The films would be seen as mainstream films as there were specific stars that their audience would like to watch at that time. Also both movies have high production values and are both very entertaining.

The government of china gave access to the producers to film in the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China. By getting access from the government of china to film in specific places would count as a funding body.

For the technology production of these movies, high technology cameras and filming equipment was used for example lighting and editing. But for the remake of the original karate kid you can see a difference as technology has improved from 1984 and there was new filming equipment being created which have higher camera resolution.

this is a representation of filming cameras in 1984 and 2010.

The production company that helped participate for the making of the first karate kid was Columbia pictures and for the remake it was sony pictures that got involved.

this is both the company logos that was included in making the movies

When the first karate kid was made in 1984 the cinemas and theatres that it was released in where warner village cinema and the odeon for the first karate kid. And in 2010, the cinemas the film featured in was vue this was a very good choice of place for the film to be shown as a lot of people go to the vue to go and watch movies.

Both of the films have aspects of a dramatic sports genre but the remake of the original karate kid included comedy throughout the film.

For the first film of the karate kid, research shows that there were about four awards awarded to some individual cast members in the karate kid film. One of the given awards was for the production of the film, which was the young artist award.  Pat morita who played the karate teacher who was known as mr miyagi
Was awarded an academy award and the golden globes award.  In addition Elizabeth shue earned the young artist award as well as William zabaka.

On the other hand the remake of the film , awards and nominated awards given to actors that was given to actors that were involved in the remake of the karate kid fir example Jackie chan won the favourite action star award. Then Jackie and jaden was nominated as the favourite on screen team. And lastly for the actual film, it was nominated as the favourite family film.

For the remake of the karate kid film in 2010 there was no sequel but the original had a part 2 and 3.

In conclusion I will ending my report by saying that both of these movie are different because of production cost and equipment, scenery actors and props for example in the the main stars where different, when you compare the film from 1984 to 2010 you can see that there has been a use of better camera quality used as technology has improve over the years furthermore what I can say is that both the movies have a similar story line.

AIDA & USP

AIDA is an acronym that stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. The AIDA model is widely used in marketing and advertising to describe the steps or stages that occur from the time when a consumer first becomes aware of a product or brand through to when the consumer trials a product or makes a purchase decision.

unique selling proposition (USP, also seen as unique selling point) is a factor that differentiates a product from its competitors, such as the lowest cost, the highest quality or the first-ever product of its kind. A USP could be thought of as “what you have that competitors don't.”
