1. Quantitative research is a formal, objective, systematic process in which numerical data are used to obtain information about the world. This research method is used: to describe variables; to examine relationships among variables; to determine cause-and-effect interactions between variables.
Qualitative Research is primarily exploratory research. It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research.
2. A questionnaire may ask if people prefer to watch Doctor Who orSherlock. Questionnaire help will provide statistical results but won’t explain why people prefer to watch either show.

A company that provides data for their customers would be amazon. amazon do this by giving the products a rating system so when there customers go to click product from amazon's website they can rate how good that product is.this is done so when amazons customers make their final purchase they are not unhappy when they receive the product .

The traditional formats for research include focus groups,which is most often with 6 to 10 respondents, dyads and triads which is 2 and 3 respondents, and one-on-one interviews, (IDIs). The researcher will choose between these formats due to a number of factors, including budget, location, and how narrow a lens he or she is seeking in terms of response. It also includes ethnographies, studies in which the researcher goes into the home or other environment of the subjects to gain deep insights through this immersive format.
